We offer a range of appointment types, each tailored to a different need. Answer a couple of quick questions below, or browse by appointment type, to find the consultation that's right for you and book directly into that appointment.
Our appointment types are grouped for new patients and for patients already under our care. Existing patients are generally booked into shorter, lower-cost review appointments, since we already hold your history and prior scans on file.
First time booking with us, or it's been a while since your last visit. Choose from our Advanced Eye Care, Myopia Management, OrthoK, Ultimate Eye Health+, Dry Eye, Keratoconus, Contact Lens or Diabetic appointment types below.
See New Patient AppointmentsYou've been seen at our clinic before and are due for a routine check or treatment review. If you have been attending regularly, these appointments are shorter and lower-cost, as we're building on your existing records.

Select the option below that best describes you. We'll jump you straight to the appointment type we'd generally recommend, along with what's included and its fee. Every appointment includes a full assessment by our optometrists, who may recommend a different test on the day if your eyes need it.
Depending on what our optometrists find on the day and your eye care history, they may recommend additional tests or a different appointment type to properly look after your eyes. Any extra fees involved would always be discussed with you first, at your appointment.
Every new patient appointment begins with a full sight test and eye health assessment. From there, each appointment type adds the specific scans, measurements and discussion relevant to your circumstances — whether that's myopia management, OrthoK, dry eye, keratoconus, contact lenses, or a very thorough eye health exam to ensure your eyes stay healthy and sharp. Recommended if: you're an adult booking your first appointment with us, or you're due for your routine comprehensive check (recommended every 1–2 years).
The OCT 3D scan images the layers of the retina and optic nerve, recommended every 1–2 years to help pick up early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration and other retinal conditions before symptoms appear. Medicare rebate of $34.00 or $67.85 typically applies, depending on your eligibility and eye condition.
Recommended if: your child is having their first eye test with us, at any age. This is our standard entry appointment for children new to the practice.
The axial length measurement records the physical length of your child's eye. Recorded from their very first visit, it gives us a baseline to compare against at future appointments, so we can pick up the earliest signs of myopia developing or progressing.
Recommended if: you or your child are experiencing early short-sighted symptoms, have a family history of myopia, or have already been diagnosed with myopia and want to slow its progression.
Axial length is recorded at every myopia management visit to track how the eye is growing over time. This is the most reliable way to measure whether myopia is progressing and whether a treatment is working. A referral isn't required, though if you have one from another optometrist, please bring it along. Typical Medicare rebate is $67.85. For more detail on our myopia management program, visit our dedicated Myopia Clinic Melbourne website.
Recommended if: you're interested in OrthoK night-wear lenses to correct your vision without daytime glasses or contact lenses, wish to explore OrthoK as a myopia management option, or are switching to us from another OrthoK practice and need new lenses.
This appointment allows enough time to properly discuss your lifestyle, prescription and suitability for OrthoK with our optometrists. Medicare rebate of $34.00 or $67.85 typically applies. A $50 credit is applied if you go ahead with our OrthoK Treatment Program; ongoing treatment fees are discussed with you after your assessment.
Recommended if: your prescription is -5.00 or higher, or your eye axial length is greater than 26mm, or you previously had high myopia before refractive surgery such as LASIK. Surgery corrects your prescription, but not the underlying length of the eye, so a previously high myopic eye remains an elongated eye. Elongation and stretching of the eyeball in high myopia raises the risk of retinal detachment and other retinal conditions, so this appointment includes the imaging needed to monitor those risks properly.
Optos ultra-widefield imaging captures more than 80% of the retina in a single scan, without needing dilating eye drops, so peripheral changes that a standard eye test can miss are far less likely to be missed here. Axial length measures the physical growth of the eye and is tracked over time to understand the rate and severity of risk. Medicare rebate available depending on eligibility.
Recommended if: you're concerned about your eye health, carry a higher risk profile (a family history of glaucoma, macular degeneration or retinal detachment, high myopia, or diabetes), or have noticed new symptoms such as floaters, flashes or sudden vision changes — even if you're an existing patient due for a routine review. This is our most detailed vision and eye health assessment.
Combining both 3D-OCT and Optos scanning gives us the widest possible view of retinal health in one visit: OCT resolves the fine layers around the optic nerve and macula, while Optos images the far periphery of the retina. Together they help detect early changes long before you'd notice symptoms yourself. Medicare rebate available depending on eligibility.
Recommended if: your eyes feel dry, gritty, tired or irritated. Symptoms are common with age, in contact lens wearers, after cataract or LASIK surgery, and with frequent screen use. A comprehensive assessment is needed before commencing dry eye treatments.
We assess your tear film quality and eyelid health to identify which sub-type of dry eye you have, then build a management plan that may combine in-office treatment with at-home care. See our Dry Eye Treatments below for follow-on treatment sessions. Medicare rebate available depending on eligibility.
Recommended if: you have keratoconus or another condition causing corneal irregularity, and want to discuss custom-fitted lens options such as RGP, hybrid or scleral lenses.
Topography maps the front surface of the cornea, while tomography reconstructs both the front and back surfaces in 3D. Together these scans show the curvature, shape and thickness of your cornea, guiding which custom lens design will fit and see best for you. Medicare rebate available depending on eligibility.
Recommended if: you're new to contact lenses, or an existing wearer new to our practice. We fit high scripts, toric and multifocal lenses, and dispense daily, weekly and monthly options.
Fees range from around $40 per visit for existing wearers to $150 for our New Wearer Package, depending on your case and how recently you were last tested. Medicare rebate may apply for eligible prescriptions. You'll trial your recommended lenses straight after the appointment to check comfort, insertion, removal and vision.
Recommended if: you have diabetes and are due for your annual eye check. Dilating drops are used to enlarge the pupil for a thorough view of the retina, so please arrange not to drive immediately afterwards.
Optos ultra-widefield imaging is particularly valuable for diabetic patients, as it helps detect diabetic retinopathy early, before bleeding, fluid leakage, swelling or vision loss develop. It also builds a detailed record of your retinal health for future reference.
Already one of our patients? If you have been attending with us regularly, review appointments are generally shorter and lower-cost, building on the history, scans and treatment plan we already hold for you. New symptoms of concern — floaters, flashes or sudden vision changes — should be booked as an Ultimate Eye Health+ Examination instead, for OCT, Optos and/or a dilated retinal exam. If you have not seen us for a while, fees may change if a more thorough assessment is needed on the day.
Recommended if: you're an existing patient due for a routine check, with no specific myopia management, OrthoK or contact lens treatment to review.
Recommended if: you previously had a Myopia Management Assessment with us and are now on a myopia control treatment plan. Additional fees may apply if additional technology scans are needed.
Recommended if: you currently wear OrthoK lenses from our practice. Reviews are included in your first 12 months of treatment; a $50 technology fee applies beyond that. We recommend a review every 6 months.
Recommended if: you're an existing patient wearing prescribed soft contact lenses and need a review of your lenses or script. Please wear your lenses to your appointment.
Recommended if: you have keratoconus and wear RGP, hybrid or scleral lenses fitted by our practice, and are due for a review.
Once your Dry Eye Management Assessment has identified the right treatment plan for you, these are the individual in-office sessions available to book. IPL and LLLT are usually booked as maintenance sessions after your initial 4-session package, though all four treatments can also be booked individually any time.
We're a busy, private-billing clinic. Please be considerate of our time and of other patients waiting for the opportunity to see us.
